With a career in sales and executive-level leadership spanning three decades, Chris Johnson brings a wealth of experience to Thunderbird as Vice President of Sales. In this role, he is responsible for developing and implementing the sales and growth strategies of all Thunderbird companies.
Chris has a vast and varied background in sales at manufacturing and building supply companies. In positions ranging from territory sales manager to vice president of sales, he has developed and mastered the skills of revenue and profit growth; new business development; P&L management; customer relationship management; lead generation; consultative selling; international sales; and much more. He is a demonstrated leader in large, multi-location organizations, mirroring his responsibilities overseeing sales and growth at our family of Thunderbird companies across the United States.
Before joining Thunderbird, Chris spent more than two decades at Charter Industries, where he was most recently the president and vice president of sales. At Charter, a manufacturer and distributor of products and accessories for furniture and fixtures, Chris reported directly to the CEO as the day-to-day top executive in the organization. As president, he was responsible for the creation and execution of all sales and marketing functions as well as management of all key vendor relationships. In his sales role, he set the strategic direction and managed growth of the multi-location company.
Chris earned his bachelor's in economics from Albion College in Albion, Michigan, in 1989.
