Rick Fowich brings decades of experience and proven performance to Thunderbird as the Director of Sales and Marketing. A progressive leader, he is responsible for developing and implementing the sales and growth strategies of all Thunderbird companies.
Rick’s leadership skills stem from his in-depth operational background. He has more than two decades of custom component manufacturing experience. He possesses broad technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, product applications, engineering protocols, and manufacturing capabilities. He has considerable international experience with Fortune 500 customers in Mexico, China, and Southeast Asia. Rick understands the importance of knowing the markets his companies serve.
Rick came to Thunderbird from Smith & Wesson Holding Corp. in Springfield, Mass., where he was director of sales and marketing for the manufacturer of firearms and related products. While at Smith & Wesson, Rick created the award-winning Smith & Wesson Precision Components brand that offered machining, forging, injection molding, stamping, heat treating, and various finishing operations. Under his leadership, the forging division grew by 56% within his first two years at the company, and sales at the plastics division increased by 10% after three years of flat or declining sales.
Rick is a graduate of Elmhurst College in Elmhurst, Ill., where he received his bachelor’s in business administration. He also has studied at Benedictine University in Lisle, Ill.
